一般角に対する、サイン、コサイン、タンジェントの定義は次の通りです。

ただし、$x=0$ となるような $\theta$ に対して、$ \tan \theta $ は定義されない。

直角三角形を使った三角関数の表現

三角関数を角度 0° ~ 90° の範囲で考えると、直角三角形を使って、次のように表されます。

動径が表す一般角(三角関数の周期性)

エクセルを用いた三角関数表の作り方

エクセルを使って、上のような三角関数表を作成するには、次の図のように数式を入力します。

サインの例:=SIN(RADIANS(角度))

エクセルの SIN 関数に用いる角度は、ラジアンを用います。そのため、RADIANS 関数を用いて、度数からラジアンに変換する必要があります。
